Registration / Cancellation of Mortgage - A mortgage annotation on the Land Title means that the property is being used as collateral/security for a loan or debt. Upon settlement of the financial obligation, a Release of Mortgage is executed to free the property and the owner from the previous financial obligation tied with the property. This document should you also be annotated on the land title to cancel the previous annotation of mortgage on the property.
